Vegetable garden: growing green beans
It should be sown with the eye of the bean facing downward, in rows and in poquet (dibbling) from April up to August. Harvesting starts in June and finishes beginning of October.
As with any pulses, green beans can be affected by anthracnose (a fungus that will cause the appearance of elongated or round spots on leaves), bean mosaic (a fungus that deteriorates leaves) and rust (a fungus that will cause the appearance of red spots on the leaves). Subsequently these diseases cause a slower growth of the plant, which can even lead to the death of the latter. Green bean is a vegetable but also a seed.
