Vegetable garden: growing chestnuts
First sown indoors in nursery, when the seeds are mature, they are transplanted outdoors. For the first few years of growth, the base of the three needs to be mulched in winter and well watered during the summer. Flowering takes place in spring and harvesting in autumn.
As with most shrubs, chestnut tree can be attacked by pests that can interfere with its optimal growth, such as canker (a fungus that will cause the death of the bark with the appearance of brown spots and holes on the bark). Chestnut is a vegetable but also a fruit.
