Vegetable garden: sweet potato
A vegetable that usually grows in warm areas. Tubers are planted in March, sheltered from the cold, either in nursery or indoors. When shoots reach 10 cm, they can be transplanted outdoors. Harvesting takes place in September when leaves are yellow.
Sweet potato can be affected by diseases such as powdery mildew (a fungus that causes the appearance of white spots on the leaves). Subsequently, this disease results in slower growth of the plant, which can even lead to death of the latter. Sweet potato is a vegetable but also a root.
