Seedlings are done in pots. They start end of February – beginning of March up to end of April. Harvesting starts in May and finishes in September.

Onion can be affected by pests such as the onion maggot (an insect that degrades the stem) and diseases, such as damping off (a fungus that causes the appearance of red spots at the base of the stem), mildew (a fungus that causes the appearance of brown spots on leaves) or bulb rot. Subsequently these diseases cause a slower growth of the plant, which can even lead to the death of the latter. In order to avoid the above diseases, do not water too much during growth. Onion is a vegetable but also a bulb.
