Vegetable garden: growing green cabbage
The seedlings start at the end of winter (during March) and last until May. Seedlings start in nursery using the dibble seeding method. Transplant the young plants to their growing position when plants have five or six true leaves, setting the lowest leaves at ground level. Space 45cm between plants.
Water well to obtain quality vegetables. In winter conserve soil moisture by mulching.
Pests such as mildew (a fungus that will cause the appearance of brown spots on the leaves), aphids or caterpillars (2 insects that come and eat the leaves and thus degrade them, appearance of small holes on the leaves) can affect the normal development of the cabbage. Green cabbage is a vegetable but also a leaf.
