Sowing starts from end of February up to mid-April. Celeriac is sown under glass or in a greenhouse at a temperature below 15 degree. Then it is transplanted when there are 2 or 3 leaves. Plant out takes place mid May. Harvesting will start prior to first frosts.

Like most of the vegetables, the celeriac can be affected by diseases: rust (a fungus that causes the appearance of brown spots on the leaves and on the stem) or root rot due to the presence of a fungus. Subsequently these diseases cause a slower growth of the plant, which can even lead to the death of the latter. An excellent autumn / winter vegetable, celeriac is not only a vegetable but also a root.
