You don’t need a bread oven to make a pizza! And an “à la carte” pizza will keep nutritionists and children happy: complex carbohydrates, fibre, vitamins and calcium... without too much fat.
Ingredients (serves 4):
- 1 quantity of bread dough (ask your baker) or make the dough yourself by mixing 500 g flour, 20 g baker’s yeast dissolved in a bowl of warm water and 5 g salt: make a soft dough and leave to rise for 2 hours.
- 1 small tin skinned chopped tomatoes,
- 1 small tin chopped button mushrooms
- 1 small tin artichoke hearts, or a large tin of ratatouille,
- depending on the children’s tastes 180 g mozzarella
- Salt and oregano
Instructions:
- Spread the bread dough out by hand on an oiled, floured baking sheet.
- Heat the oven to gas mark 9/10 (280°).
- Arrange the vegetables on the dough: chopped tomatoes, mushrooms, chopped artichoke hearts or ready-made ratatouille.
- Cut the mozzarella into slices and lay over the vegetables.
- Sprinkle with oregano and bake in the oven for 20 to 30 minutes.
Choose the vegetables the children like best; if necessary, divide the pizza into sections and add different vegetables to each section to suit everyone’s tastes.
