The Louis Bonduelle Foundation presents its new partner, the Vegetable Garden World Cup, organised by the Landestini Association - the earth is our destiny!
The aim of the competition is to promote healthy eating and sustainable lifestyles among young people around the world through a practical project that emphasises sustainability, sharing and mutual support, values that both partners hold dear. Thanks to the kitchen garden, young people can reconnect with the earth and nature and appreciate the importance of biodiversity, insects and healthy soil. Nearly 200 schools on 5 continents are already taking part in this unique competition, giving nearly 5,000 young people the chance to learn and share about vegetable gardening!
For 20 years, the Louis Bonduelle Foundation has been working to bring about sustainable changes in eating habits that respect people and the planet. By joining forces with Landestini, whose mission is to reconnect young people with nature, the Foundation is strengthening its commitment by offering these young people the opportunity to learn how to produce their own food in a vegetable garden, a skill as fundamental as learning to read, write or count.
As part of this partnership, the Louis Bonduelle Foundation also intends to encourage its employees’ civic engagement by involving them in partner schools in France and abroad, wherever it is present. A special prize will be awarded to the young participants, who will have the opportunity to cook plant-based recipes using produce grown in the school gardens, a practical and fun way to incorporate sustainable food practices from an early age.
After the first edition where the Základní School from Domanil, Czech Republic was crowned the winner and 13 other schools won as many prizes, the registration for the second edition is now open! The competition will take place throughout the year and the results will be announced in June 2025!
