The theme of the Louis Bonduelle Foundation Conference 2019 was “Plants in Food Systems and Sustainability: A Balancing Act.” At the event, a large expert panel on nutrition met to take stock of the worldwide trend toward a more plant-based diet.

To continue the discussion on the role of a plant-based diet in addressing issues facing society, we met with Hugo Martorell, a healthy food and sustainable agriculture consultant. He explained how Quebec stands out among provinces in Canada because of its vision of a food-producing land.
