2016 is the International Year of Pulses. In this short video, the FAO shows the general public how pulses can contribute to sustainable nutrition.
Pulses : seeds to feed the future
The International Year of Pulses 2016 aims to heighten public awareness of the nutritional benefits of the legume family as part of sustainable food production aimed towards food security and nutrition.
This theme creates a unique opportunity to encourage connections throughout the food chain that would better utilize pulse-based proteins, further global production of legumes, better utilize crop rotations and address the challenges in the trade of legumes.
All throughout the year, the Louis Bonduelle Foundation showcases documents, events, and partnerships related to this theme.
