Keep it simple: just one vegetable at a time so that the baby can get to know each flavour, very little salt and seasoned with oil rather than butter for the essential fatty acids and vitamin E they provide: try rapeseed, soya or sunflower.
Ingredients (serve 1):
For 1 6 month-old baby
- 3 broccoli or cauliflower florets
- 1/2 tsp rapeseed oil
Instructions:
- Cook the cauliflower florets in the basket of a pressure-cooker for 4 minutes.
- Crush the florets with a fork or in a blender.
- Add a drizzle of rapeseed oil. Serve straightaway.
Try cooking a whole cauliflower, cooling and freezing what the baby doesn’t eat in glass yogurt pots covered with cling film for a supply of ready-made little pots of natural vegetables.
